In order to connect your Instagram account to our app, you'll need it to be part of your Meta Business Manager environment. This is because Instagram is owned by Meta, and all app connections run through Meta Business Manager.

You'll also need your Instagram account to be connected to a Facebook page (don't worry if you're not a big Facebook user, you don't actually have to post anything on this page!)

And finally, your Facebook page needs to have a Username set up!

Once you've done that, you'll be able to see richer insights for your Instagram fan base, and run Instagram adverts to new fans.

Adding Instagram page to Business Manager

1. If you have a Facebook account, you should already have a Meta Business Manager set up. Log in to Facebook, then follow this link to access Business Manager: https://business.facebook.com/

2. If you have more than one portfolio, choose the correct one from the drop down on the left. This will be whichever business account you want your Instagram page to be associated with.

3. Now you've selected your portfolio, hit the settings button in the bottom left. This will bring up a list of your pages and ad accounts

4. Click Instagram Accounts on the left-hand menu.

5. If the Instagram account you want to use does not already show up in this list, hit the add button, and you will be prompted to login to your Instagram account

6. If your Instagram account is not already a Professional Account, you'll be prompted to update it

For most artists, it will make sense to select Creator and Musician (or Musician/Band)

7. Now on Business Manager, you should get a popup telling you

that the Instagram Account has been successfully added to your portfolio

Connecting your Facebook Page to your Instagram Page

8. If you already have a Facebook page for your artist, skip to step 9.

If you don't yet have a Facebook page for your artist, you can add that now. Note it MUST be a page, and not a personal profile. You don't have to be active on this page, or post anything at all, but you do 100% need a Facebook page connected to your Instagram page before you can run the Instagram ads!

9. Now you've created your page, link it to your Instagram account by hitting Connect assets

10. Follow the steps and you'll get this confirmation that the accounts are connected.

You'll now see that your Instagram account shows up as a connected asset to your Facebook page (try refreshing the page if you can't see it yet)

Adding a Username to your Facebook Page

11. The final step is to make sure your Facebook Page has a username. Find your page in the Pages list of Business Manager, and hit View on Facebook.

12. Then hit settings

13.Hit page setup

14. Hit Name

15. If there's no Username, hit edit and add one

16. Now return to our app, and you should be able to connect your Instagram and Facebook page!
