Our Unlimited Distribution plans are designed to give artists the freedom to release as much music as they create. However, the rise of AI music generation tools has made it possible to create and submit large numbers of releases in a very short amount of time.
To ensure we can continue providing fast review times, reliable support, and a high-quality service for all artists, we apply a Fair Use Policy to AI-generated content.
AI-Generated Release Limit
Customers on Unlimited Distribution plans may submit one AI-generated release per week for distribution.
A release is considered AI-generated if the music has been created primarily using artificial intelligence tools, including fully AI-generated songs, instrumental tracks, or similar content.
Why Is There a Limit?
Unlike traditional music projects, AI-generated content can often be created in minutes and submitted in extremely high volumes. This can place significant strain on moderation, review, and distribution processes.
By limiting AI-generated submissions, we can:
Maintain fast processing times for all customers.
Prioritise genuine artist-created projects that typically require substantial time, effort, and investment to produce.
Prevent abuse of Unlimited plans through mass-generated content.
Ensure fair access to our distribution infrastructure for all users.
What Counts as AI-Generated?
Content may be considered AI-generated if AI tools were used to create most or all of the musical composition, lyrics, vocals, instrumentation, or final recordings.
Using AI tools for assistance during the creative process (such as mastering, editing, mixing, artwork creation, or creative suggestions) does not automatically make a release AI-generated.
What Happens If I Exceed the Limit?
If you attempt to submit a second AI-generated release within a seven-day period, you will receive a notification that you will not be able to submit it until the next eligible submission window.
